Curt,

You stated: "The ENP could very well not be the agreement that is described in the Bible, but as of right now I see nothing to disqualify it."

How about this from God's Word, not man's twisted view.

Isa. 42:6 foretelling Jesus as the "covenant" God was sending;

I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

Or Ia. 49:8;

Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

Paul told us this was "confirmed" in heaven between His Christ and Him 430 years before the law in Gal. 3:17;

And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

Then among men in Rom. 15:8

Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

The covenant is the PROMISE God gave Abraham born again believers are heir to.

Rom. 4:13;

For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Gal. 3:29:

And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Jesus even told us His new "testament" (diatheke: Greek meaning: covenant, promise, testament) was FOR MANY!

For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

Jesus was the "Prince to come" and the people are Israel who destroyed His "sanctuary" (naos) John 2:21. They also brought desolation to the city as seen in Mt. 27:25;

Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children.

Jesus' 3 1/2 year ministry wherin He preached the acceptable time "upon thy people and upon thy holy city." The second half is Jacob's trouble.

Leave Jesus out and it is tantamount to denying His finished work.

The ENP is a useless piece of trash. God's Word confirms it. No 7 year anything between Israel and anyone.

In Christ,

Hello Aletheuo,

Welcome to my blog.

Calling my view twisted and then calling the ENP a piece of trash is really unnecessary. If you want to disagree with me, go for it, but be civil or your post will not stay up long.

There are ways to disagree with each other and have a civil discussion especially if we are both In Christ. Keep that in mind or post elsewhere.

Curt,
Great blog, Thanks!
I'd like to jump in here, forgive me if this has allready been discussed, but I read your article on FP.
Daniel says that the AntiChrist will "confirm" an agreement with many... The word confirm really caught my attention, so I got out all my study tools to see what it meant. Please correct me if I am wrong on this, but I found that it meant to "finalize, finish, or set into motion something that is allready been decided on". That seem to fit perfect with what's actually going on with the ENP peace issue. The connatation here is that the anti-christ will "finalize or set into motion" an agreement that was allready in place, but not quite completed. I have been surprised that no one else is mentioning this detail anywhere??? So, I'm thinking that maybe they will "re-start" the 7 yr. clock once they actually "confirm" it, or make another 7 yr. amendment/agreement to it and thus the start of the 7 yr. tribulation??? If their intention was to "test" a 7 yr. peace agreement to see how it does over that specific amount of time, then the 7yr. re-start would really make sense. But either way, I don't think it has been "confirmed" yet, so the real 7 yrs. hasn't started yet!
Please comment,
God Bless,
Doug

We also have to remember, the 7 yr. Peace Agreement doesn't have to be the same as the 7yr. tribulation... they can be 2 different 7 yr. periods...
Just a thought,
Doug

Hi Doug,

Thanks for your question.

I found your insight from your studies to be quite interesting.

I would agree with you on the word confirm and your findings that the word means to "finalize, finish, or set into motion something that is already been decided on".

This definition actually fits the ENP very well, because the ENP has done exactly this to the Barcelona Process. The Barcelona Process (Euro-Mediterranean Partnership (or Barcelona Process)) came into force in 1995 but it never really got off the ground. The ENP was created to breath fresh life into the Barcelona Agreement. In effect the ENP confirmed the Barcelona Agreement. You can read about the Barcelona Agreement at this link...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euromediterranean_Partnership

So in effect the ENP agreement has done exactly what the Barcelona Process set out to do, and in my mind is the main reason why the ENP is possibly so prophetically compelling.

I also do not think that a peace agreement is needed to qualify for the covenant with many. The Bible never states that the covenant will be a peace agreement, that has always been assumed by most.

To me the ENP fits very nicely, and your definition of confirm leads credence to that.

Is it possible that another agreement is coming that confirms an agreement that is currently in place? Could this new agreement involve some sort of peace agreement. Yes of course, but right now the ENP, IMHO is the one to watch.

Maybe we should run this "confirm" detail by Holly and see what she thinks?

When the fancy videos came out on you tube mocking the pre-tribers because of the 7 yr. ENP allready starting, and thus stating that we are now in the 7 year tribulation, I didn't buy it for many other reasons (I don't have time to list) but that word "confirmed" just lead me to more study.

Luke 21:28 says that we will "begin to see" all these things (the events of the 7 yr. tribulation)happen just before the rapture... we are getting glimpses of all that right now, there isn't anything missing. I pray Jer. 33:3 "ask me and I will show you great & unsearchable things..." We are not suppose to know the day or the hour, but the scriptures indicates all over that we are to know "the season". I pray that God will show me "the season" because He may just want us to sprint the last portion of this race called life... we can do that when we know where our oponents are & we can see the finish line... The bible also says to "pray that you will be found worthy to escape all these things that are about to come upon the earth..." He wouldn't tell us to pray for escape if it wasn't a real option! We are also told to "encourage one another as we see this day approaching..." That's why I am a watchman, I believe that the fullfillment of prophecy is inncredibly evangelistic!!! he gives us plenty of details, signs & hints, then tells us to watch for them so we can finish well... that's pretty straight forward to me. I think the Bible is really quite simple, we are the ones who make it hard!
I am so grateful for what you, Holly, and many other "watchmen" are doing, it's exactly what God tells us to do in His Word!
Keep up the good work, more comments later,
Doug
