UN General Assembly Votes in Favor of Palestinian Statehood

Curt Here...

Today the U.N. General Assembly voted to upgrade the status of the Palestinians to a nonmember observer state at the United Nations.  This essentially gives the Palestinians much more credibility in the international world and gains them access to U.N. agencies and international bodies, which they can now utilize to heap more international pressure on Israel.  However, this did not unilaterally declare a state of Palestine, but it has very craftily laid the groundwork for future prophetic events.

This website along with many other prophecy websites have speculated for many years that a State of Palestine could be created via U.N. Mandate, which in turn could then be enforced militarily by the international community.  In my very humble opinion this could create exactly the scenario that the Prophet Joel wrote about and that Jesus spoke of in the books of Mathew and Luke.

Please consider.

Joel 3:1-2
1 "For behold, in those days and at that time, When I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem,

2I will gather all the nations And bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there On behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; And they have divided up My land.

Luke 21:20-22
20 "But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near.
21 "Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of the city must leave, and those who are in the country must not enter the city;
22 because these are days of vengeance, so that all things which are written will be fulfilled.

Mathew 24:15-16
15 "Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
16 then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.

By giving the Palestinians observer status today, it has legitimized their claim for statehood on lands that Israel currently claims.  These areas are East Jerusalem, the Temple Mount, Judea and Samaria.  It is just a matter of time until the International Community decides to force Israel to give these lands to the Palestinians.

I personally don't know how quickly the above scenario could play out.  Will it be a few weeks, months or years? But it is clear that things are not as they should be and it is only a matter of time until our Savior returns to set things right.

Stay Tuned.

JERUSALEM –The U.N. General Assembly voted Thursday in favor of Palestinian statehood, after the Palestinians asked it to recognize a non-member state of Palestine in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and east Jerusalem, and the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip.

The resolution upgrading the Palestinians' status to a nonmember observer state at the United Nations was approved by a more than two-thirds majority of the 193-member world body -- a vote of 138-9, with 41 abstentions.

Real independence, however, remains an elusive dream until the Palestinians negotiate a peace deal with the Israelis, who warned that the General Assembly action will only delay a lasting solution. Israel still controls the West Bank, east Jerusalem and access to Gaza, and it accused the Palestinians of bypassing negotiations with the campaign to upgrade their U.N. status.

The United States immediately criticized the historic vote. "Today's unfortunate and counterproductive resolution places further obstacles in the path peace," U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice said.

And U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton called the vote "unfortunate" and "counterproductive."

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the speech by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to the General Assembly shortly before the vote "defamatory and venomous," saying it was "full of mendacious propaganda" against Israel.

Abbas had told the General Assembly that it was "being asked today to issue the birth certificate of Palestine." Abbas said the vote is the last chance to save the two-state solution.

After the vote, Netanyahu said the UN move violated past agreements between Israel and the Palestinians and that Israel would act accordingly, without elaborating what steps it might take.

Just before the vote, Israel's U.N. ambassador, Ron Prosor, warned the General Assembly that "the Palestinians are turning their backs on peace" and that the U.N. can't break the 4,000-year-old bond between the people of Israel and the land of Israel.
