Lift up your heads... Your Redemption is near...

Something to consider on upcoming events...  Keep Watch - Mark 13:37

Luke 21

25 And there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the billows;
26 men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.
27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

28 But when these things begin to come to pass, look up, and lift up your heads; because your redemption draweth nigh.

God's Word gives Encouragement

Jesus is our encourager...

 2 Timothy 3

 But know this, that in the last days grievous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, abusive, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, without self-control, fierce, no lovers of good,
traitors, headstrong, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;
holding a form of godliness, but having denied the power therefore. From these also turn away.
For of these are they that creep into houses, and take captive gullible women laden with sins, led away by divers lusts,
ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
And even as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also withstand the truth. Men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith.
But they shall proceed no further. For their folly shall be evident unto all men, as theirs also came to be.
10 But thou didst follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, long suffering, love, patience,
11 persecutions, sufferings. What things befell me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured. And out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and impostors shall go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it.
15 And that from a babe in Christ thou hast known the sacred writings which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 Every scripture inspired of God is also profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness.
17 That the man of God may be complete, furnished completely unto every good work.

 Matthew 24:42-51

42 Watch therefore: for you know not on what day your Lord comes.
43 But know this, that if the owner of the house had known in what watch the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken into.
44 Therefore be ready; because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
45 Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his lord has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he comes shall find him doing so when he returns.
47 Truly I say unto you, that he will set him over all that he has.
48 But if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord is staying away a long time;
49 and shall begin to beat his fellow-servants, and shall eat and drink with the drunken;
50 the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he least expecteth not, and in an hour when he is not aware of,
51 and shall cut him asunder, and appoint his portion with the hypocrites: where there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.

Luke 21:34-36

 34 “Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you suddenly like a trap.
35 For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth.
36 Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.”

EU Deals Will Force Israel to Admit West Bank Outside State

Curt Here...

A new EU directive with Israel that goes into effect Friday, will require that all contracts between EU member states and Israel will carry a clause stating that East Jerusalem and the West Bank are not part of the State Of Israel.

This new directive goes into effect Friday and lasts until 2020.  This directive will run for the next 7 years.   I am convinced that this "clause" is tied to previously signed agreements between the EU and Israel, most notably the ENP.  The ENP is a 7 year agreement between the EU and Israel that started in 2006 and ends in December of 2013.  One of its requirements is that Israel must make progress towards peace with the Palestinians.   The next ENP is scheduled to begin in 2014 and runs through 2020.

I think the EU is forcing Israel's hand and is tired of waiting on Israel to agree to a two state solution.  This should be watched very closely, as this could turn out to be very significant.

New directive, to go into effect Friday, will put areas over Green Line outside EU agreements, Haaretz reports; Jerusalem source calls move ‘earthquake’

A new directive published by the European Union will require contracts between EU member countries and Israel to include a clause stating that East Jerusalem and the West Bank are not part of the State of Israel, it was reported on Tuesday.

The directive, to go into effect on Friday, would leave any the West Bank and East Jerusalem outside any agreement signed between Israel and the EU and forces the Israeli government to acknowledge in writing that its settlements in the territories are not part of the state, a senior Israeli official told Haaretz, which first reported on the story Tuesday morning.

The anonymous official described the ruling as an “earthquake” which turned “understandings and quiet agreements that the Union does not work beyond the Green Line” into “formal, binding policy.” One Israeli official told Haaretz that “we are not ready to sign on this clause” in future agreements with the EU, and said that pushing back could cause a “halt to all cooperation in economics, science, culture, sports and academia” with Europe, which “would cause severe damage to Israel.”.......

The new directive, initiated in December by the EU foreign ministers, is “in conformity with the EU’s longstanding position that Israeli settlements are illegal under international law and with the non-recognition by the EU of Israel’s sovereignty over the occupied territories, irrespective of their legal status under domestic Israeli law,” the EU said in a statement.

The directive, to be in effect until 2020, are designed in part to stave-off a general boycott of Israel and to ensure that Israel’s participation in EU projects is “not put in question,” the EU told Haaretz. Reportedly, the cause is already affecting negotiations over a proposed Israeli-EU youth project.

Meet the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss

Curt Here...

Hello again everyone, it has been awhile since I posted,  so it is good to be back.

If you have been following the news lately in Iran, than you would know that Iran has elected a new president.  His name is Hasan Rowhani, and he has been labeled by the international community as a moderate who may be willing to negotiate on Iran's nuclear weapon program, but is this true?  From my perspective I believe there is good reason to seriously question just how moderate this man is.  Here are a few facts about this situation that support my questioning.

First, the Supreme Leader of Iran, the Ayatollah Khamenei is really the man in charge in the country of Iran. This is the man that is driving Iran towards nuclear weapons.

Second, even though the people of Iran cast their vote for Rowhani, he was simply one of several candidates that was hand picked and allowed to run by the Ayatollah. Therefore, it is not hard to see that Rowhani is very loyal to the Ayatollah and to his nuclear ambitions.

Third, Hasan Rowhani is a radical Shia cleric, but unlike his predecessor Mahmoud Ahmadinejad who consistently spoke radical inflammatory language towards Israel and the US, Rowhani's language is much more moderate and cooperative.

From my point of view it is not hard to figure out what is going on here.  The approach of Ahmandinejad was not working, when it came to smooth international relations with the west.  His consistent inflammatory language made it very easy for Israel and the west to garner international support towards halting Iran's nuclear ambitions.  Of course, stopping Iran has never really happened as they have continued their march towards a nuclear weapon, but the leadership of Iran is viewed internationally as radical because of Ahmandinejad. However, Rowhani has an opportunity to smooth relations between Iran and the west with the appearance that progress is being made towards halting Iran's nuclear weapons ambitions, all the while casting Israel as uncooperative and radical.

Of course Iran has absolutely no intention of stopping it's nuclear weapon program and I believe their goal is to continue making weapons and isolate Israel at the same time.  So, do we really have a new moderate Iranian President that is willing to actually negotiate towards the end of Iran's nuclear weapons program or do we have two sides to the same coin?

As the famous line from that famous song goes "meet the new boss, same as the old boss."

Netanyahu: New Iranian leader won’t stop nuclear program

Prime minister cautions against ‘wishful thinking,’ says incoming president Rowhani has a ‘talk and enrich’ policy

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Tuesday that the new Iranian president has been very clear about Iran’s nuclear policy, and that neither Israel nor the world should delude themselves into thinking that policy will change under his tenure.

“Wishful thinking is not a substitute for policy. The new Iranian president has been very clear. He is the author of a doctrine. You could call it ‘talk and enrich’ — that is, ‘talk and continue to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons.’ He said that that by calming the international community, Iran is able to steadily move forward in its nuclear weapons program,” said Netanyahu........

Catastrophe of the 21st Century

Isaiah 17

A Prophecy Against Damascus

17 A prophecy against Damascus:
“See, Damascus will no longer be a city
    but will become a heap of ruins.
The cities of Aroer will be deserted
    and left to flocks, which will lie down,
    with no one to make them afraid.
The fortified city will disappear from Ephraim,
    and royal power from Damascus;
the remnant of Aram will be
    like the glory of the Israelites,”
declares the Lord Almighty.

The Telegraph:

At the foreign ministers G8 summit, William Hague warns that Syria is "on track to be the biggest humanitarian catastrophe of the 21st century".

Hosting a meeting of the G8 foreign ministers in London, Mr Hague declared the outside world must mount a much stronger intervention to curtail the crisis.
Britain invited four leaders of the Syrian Opposition Coalition to be present on the sidelines of the meeting in an effort to increase support for the regime's opponents.
"I will be joining and convening some of those meetings to discuss the urgent humanitarian needs and the urgent need for a political and diplomatic breakthrough," said Mr Hague. "This is turning into the greatest humanitarian catastrophe of the 21st century so far and we cannot watch this happen."
