The Third Seal and the light of the World!

Revelation 6: 5-6

The Third Seal--Famine

5 When He broke the third seal, I heard the third living creature saying, "Come " I looked, and behold, a black horse; and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand.

6 And I heard something like a voice in the center of the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not damage the oil and the wine."

Mike here...

I'm beginning to wonder what is going on in both the US Economy as well as the Global Economy.

Within the US the stock market has dropped and then bounced up and down in the Month of January. The fed is dropping the interest rate in an unusually aggressive way.

Commodities are becoming more expensive as well. I could go on and on. Please feel free to post any comments, stories, or other facts that point to possible examples of this prophecy coming to pass.

I believe that every event we encounter as humans is to remind us to have faith in the Father for his provision, faith in His Son for our salvation and allow the Holy Spirit to counsel us in how to act and respond. Through all these situations I believe we are to give glory to God for His righteousness and perfect plan to reveal Himself to His creation. Unfortunately in our humanness we don't always listen when things are going well, it is usually in our times of need, even more so in our darkest hours that God is where we turn.

While I don't have it figured out, not even close, it is interesting to watch. I'd like to encourage all believers to be the light in the darkness during these uncertain times. Let's remember and acknowledge that those who are not saved are going to be experiencing some very powerful emotions, mainly fear, as these economic uncertainties continue to play out. Lets seize the opportunity to be a witness for Christ and be ready to share our faith in love and sincerity.

I'll close with this scripture from Mathew;

Salt and Light

13 "You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.

14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

To steal a phrase from one of my favorite bands, Third Day....
Keep on Shining!

In His grace, Mike

A new and encouraging blogspot to me. I'm happy you're here and "on the case" to put it in legal parlance.

Sincerely,

See this article from the AP re: Haitians eating dirt.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080130/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/haiti_eating_dirt;_ylt=Am63YkbOZGpKfjeYNZMntZqs0NUE

From the article:

"Food prices around the world have spiked because of higher oil prices, needed for fertilizer, irrigation and transportation. Prices for basic ingredients such as corn and wheat are also up sharply, and the increasing global demand for biofuels is pressuring food markets as well.

The problem is particularly dire in the Caribbean, where island nations depend on imports and food prices are up 40 percent in places.

The global price hikes, together with floods and crop damage from the 2007 hurricane season, prompted the U.N. Food and Agriculture Agency to declare states of emergency in Haiti and several other Caribbean countries. Caribbean leaders held an emergency summit in December to discuss cutting food taxes and creating large regional farms to reduce dependence on imports."

The Economist, (an extremely secular humanistic magazine)has an article on farmers and the dynamic change in mid-sw farm lands, where huge corp. own the land and it takes few to harvest masses of land, how the people are leaving to the cities, leaving behind ghost towns- so what happens when we see these weather pattern's, seed that is genetically engineered and no bee's to pollinate, and much of the corn being used for fuel, only a few people, I don't trust, behind all the food we can get...I too believe the third seal has been broken and we can watch as the food shortages hit...both in truth and as manipulation of the masses to call for the new world change and doctrines- we know in Revelation that the rich are still doing well, and drinking the wine, but the rest are paying a days wages for wheat..look at the futures market- they already know!!
I had heard our food stores are deplete, no link though, and how do we know it is even true, South Africa has the food and money- it is the power's of the gov that starve the people to keep them in check, and don't forget the 'elitists' goal is a mass decline in population- was God just showing us the fruits of their desires implemented on the world? I don't know, but their agenda would lead to what we see in the pictures of Revelation and other pertinent scriptures.....Linda

Constance, thanks for the encouragement.

Anonymous, I attempted to go to the article you suggested but found error messages. Thanks for sharing what is going on in the Caribbean, I was unaware.

I imagine that if things continue to deteriorate it will be hard to keep up with all the areas of the world who are suffering. I'll try to keep an eye out for future information on the Caribbean. Thanks for your comment.

Linda, that is a lot of information and I share your concern. I just hope that believers begin to recognize the facts all around them and be ready to share the faith.

Thanks for your comments, please stay tuned and continue to share your thoughts.
